Announcement

2008 Sino-US International Symposium of Limb Deformity Correction (Instructional Course)

The International Symposium of Limb Deformity Correction will be held in Shanghai between the 16th and 18th October 2008. This symposium is co-sponsored by Xin-Hua Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Orthopedic Section of Chinese Association of Pediatric Surgery and Section of Pediatric Surgery for Shanghai Medical Association. This will be just the time when Xin-Hua Hospital celebrates the 50th anniversary of her founding.

Limb deformity of both length and alignment is one of the causes for morbidity and disability. This can be due to congenital anomaly, developmental dysplasia and posttraumatic sequelae. A number of distinguished surgeons and scientists have been invited from China, UK, USA and the other Asian countries to teach and to share their work and knowledge at this special academic event. Professor John Kenwright, Emeritus Nuffield Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Oxford, UK, has made his great contribution to the scientific knowledge and clinical aspect in limb lengthening. He also will share his unique experience in his teaching career along with his study on professional training. Dr. Dror Paley, one of the co-directors to International Center for Limb Lengthening, Baltimore, USA, has made his great contribution to the principle and practice in limb deformity correction. He will give his lectures with the core curriculum based on the textbook, Principles of Deformity Correction (Springer-Verlag, 2005), and the accompanying Exercise Workbook. The CME 10 Category I credits will be awarded

We anticipate that this symposium will be an exciting and productive one as well as the panel for the orthopedic peers to exchange their ideas and experiences along with the scientific investigations in limb deformity correction. We look forward to seeing you at this symposium and guarantee that this will be very educational and memorable.
